Grant Sutherlin

Director of Sales and Acquisitions

As the second generation of AirMart, Grant has been in general aviation his entire life. True to his passion for flying, Grant soloed on his 16th birthday - before getting his driver's license - and has been flying for more than 25 years. He is a commercial, instrument, and multi-engine rated pilot.
Understanding what airplanes can be bought and sold for is critical for an inventory dealer. Grant knows that the information needed to make marketable acquisitions and to represent our clients well does not merely come from loading up the latest appraisal software. It comes from putting in the hours, asking the right questions, and listening to the voice of experience.
What Grant likes best about working with AirMart is the opportunity to share his true passion with others. "It's not like work when I get to do what I love every single day."
Originally from Somerset, Kentucky, Grant lives in Lexington with Kim and their two children. When Grant isn't following aircraft trends or making acquisitions, he is training for his next triathlon or wakeboarding on Lake Cumberland.
In May of 2019, Grant and Kim launched a houseboat sales and brokerage company, On Board Yacht Sales. Learn more about building, buying, or brokering a luxury houseboat at OnBoardYachts.com

Originally from Chicago, Kim lives in Lexington with Grant and their two children. When she's not revising contract language or brainstorming new marketing avenues, Kim is taking part-time classes toward a degree in Organizational Psychology. Bangaly "Sav" Savané

Sales Executive / Ferry Pilot

Sav helped run his family’s two restaurants since he was a young boy.  That work has helped to develop a strong sense of teamwork and a work ethic that we have come to both admire and envy.  His ability to listen and connect with people is integral to his role here as a Sales Executive. His love for aviation helps him in every aspect of his job.

Sav has been lucky enough to own his own Cessna 172 and while clocking time for his commercial pilot’s certificate, he went on a 5-day excursion out west and flew 50 hours in 5 days, flying from the Rockies in Wyoming all the way down to Nevada.   Sav loves taking his friends and family flying and his favorite parts about flying are the views and VFR on top.  Sav was flying during the latest solar eclipse and was able to experience it from 10,000 ft, something few have ever seen.

Sav’s involvement in the Lexington community has helped him hone his ability to build lasting rapport with people, especially those who share his same passions.  Helping first time buyers find a plane that will meet their mission for years to come, experiencing the many different aircraft that come through our inventory, and getting to see firsthand all the latest gadgets and technology the aviation world has to offer is what he loves best about working with our team at AirMart.

Sav’s other interests include, spending time outdoors, motorcycle riding, traveling, experiencing other cultures, tinkering and of course all things aviation.

Sav holds his Commercial Pilot’s Certificate and Instrument Rating.

Barbette Yingst

Office Coordinator

Born and raised in the heart of Illinois, and then spending 20 years of her adult life in Indiana, Barbette is a true Midwestern transplant. She and Chuck, her husband of almost 30 years, embarked on an adventure to move to Lexington and make it their new home at the end of 2018. They have three beautiful daughters, as well as three fur babies and a gecko they affectionately refer to as Ralph Macchio.

In her spare time she loves to cook, read, crochet and of course spend time with her family. She dabbles in writing and for several years wrote for an online magazine.

From her earliest memories aviation played a role in her life. Her dad's grandpa owned a Piper Cub and her grandpa owned a Stinson bi-plane back in the 50's. They shared many stories of their adventures. In fact, on one adventure her grandpa ended up bringing home a chimpanzee they named BoBo who lived with them during her dad's childhood. Her dad served in Vietnam as an aviation mechanic, and so it was no surprise that she married an aviator. Chuck served in the army as a helicopter pilot and retired from the military as a Lt. Col.

"I feel that flying is in my blood! Although I am not a pilot myself, I absolutely love all things aviation!!"

Barbette has been working at AirMart since January of 2019 and loves everything about it. She was able to take her first GA flight in the fall of 2019 and LOVED it!!

She often says that she wants to live her life with no regrets, so it is no surprise that her favorite quote is, "At the end of the day, let there be no excuses, no explanations, and no regrets!" ~Steve Mariboli

Robert Crawford

Aircraft Mechanic

Robert’s interest in flying took root from a grass airstrip built by his grandfather.  A Cessna 152, 172 and a T-34 were the first aircraft Robert spent time flying with his father.  After pursuing other career opportunities, Robert returned to his love of aviation and earned his A&P Mechanic License and an Associate’s degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology from Somerset Community College.

Robert was born and raised in Brodhead, KY, and now calls Lexington home.  Whether it’s fly fishing, mountain biking, or camping, Robert can usually be found outdoors when he is not maintaining aircraft at AirMart.  Robert also enjoys flying drones.  He finds the freedom and excitement of flight his favorite part of aviation.

Robert’s enjoys the challenge of working with the diverse inventory that lands in AirMart’s hangar. It's not just his favorite part of working in aircraft sales: it’s also why he is an integral part of the AirMart Aircraft Maintenance team.
